BUNAKEN NATIONAL MARINE PARK is located in North Sulawesi Province of Indonesia. This Marine Park also located inside Triangle Coral Reefs, there is 390 kind of coral reefs where life here and also as well as fish, mollusc, reptile and marine mammal species inside the area. This Park is representative of Indonesian tropical water ecosystems, consisting of seagrass plain, coral reef, and coastal ecosystems.
It was established as a national park in 1991 and is among the first of Indonesia's growing system of marine parks. It covers a total area of 890.65 km², 97% of which is marine habitat. The remaining 3% of the park is terrestrial, including the five islands of Bunaken, Manado Tua, Mantehage, Nain and Siladen.
Bunaken National Marine Park has a very rich reef ecosystems. There are approximately 390 species of coral reefs in the region. The species of algae that can be found in Bunaken National Park is Caulerpa, Halimeda and Padina, while the type of seaweed commonly found are Thalassia hemprichii, Enhallus acoroides, and ciliatum Thalassaodendron. Bunaken National Park also has a variety of fish species, marine mammals, reptiles, birds, molluscs and mangroves. Approximately 90 species of fish that live in the waters of this region. On the mainland, the island is rich in Arecaceae, sago, woka, silar and coconut. In addition, the Bunaken National Park also has an animal species that live on land, such as deer and possum. Mangrove forest in the park is a habitat for crabs, lobsters, molluscs and sea birds.
Bunaken National Marine park has a 20 point dive (dive spot) with varying depths of up to 1344 meters. Of the 20 point dive, dive 12 points around Bunaken Island. Twelve point dive most frequently visited by divers and lovers of the beauty of underwater scenery. Most point dive in Bunaken Island 12 rows from the southeast to the northwest of the island. In this area there is a huge underwater wall, also called a wall hanging, or wall of a giant rock that stands vertically and curved upward. Rock wall is also a food source for fish in the waters around Bunaken Island
